Bemidji  45, #6 Minnesota State-Mankato  17

Beavers jumped out to a 24-0 Halftime lead.  The Mavericks started the 2nd half with a TD to get it to 24-7, but the Beavers answered immediately with a TD of their own to make it 31-7 and that seemed to seal the deal.  The Mavs got a field goal to make it 31-10, but the Beavers scored the next 14 points to make it 45-10 before a meaningless TD in the final four minutes made the final 45-17.

This is the first victory for Bemidji State over Mankato since 2005, and their first win over a ranked opponent since 2011.  The Beavers are now 2-0 and headed home to host Wayne State for the annual Shrine Game Saturday night at 6pm at Chet Anderson Stadium.

LUMBERJACK GIRLS SOCCER

Bemidji  2, Moorhead  1

The Jacks gave up their first goal of the year to the toughest team they’ve played all year, but got the road win with 2 goals of their own.  Kelly Christopher from Alyce Stone evened it up, and Rachael Holm won it on a Penalty Kick in the second half.  Shots were 8-5 in favor of the Jacks, with Laura Bieberdorf 4 of 5 in goal.

Bemidji is 5-0-1 on the season and will be in Fergus Falls to battle Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Tuesday at 4pm.
