LUMBERJACK GIRLS SOCCER
State Quarterfinal at Prior Lake…
Mahtomedi 3, Bemidji 0
The Zephyrs proved too much for the Lumberjacks, putting on the pressure from the outset and finally breaking through for a goal with 29 seconds left in the half. The pressure intensified in the 2nd half and the Zephyrs scored 2 more to make it 3-0. The Jacks Alli Beard had one of her busiest days of the season, facing 13 shots and making 10 saves. It was going to be tough to come back as the Zephyrs had a defense that allowed only 5 goals on the year. The Jacks were only able to put 2 shots on goal. With the win, Mahtomedi moves on to US Bank Stadium for the semifinals next week.
Bemidji finishes the season 14-6. They lose several impactful seniors including Kelly Christopher, Sydney Butler, Annah Schussman, Destiny Christofferson, Isabelle Morin, Jacie Lalli, and Maddie Willard.
